Research & Innovation
The more we learn through research, the more we can educate ourselves on how to improve performance, reduce injury, recover from setbacks faster and play safe. This knowledge extends to all athletes, including those who have made playing sport a career, and to those who participate in sport for recreation. Tanenbaum Institute supported researchers explore mild traumatic brain injuries; orthopaedics; technologies in parasport, regenerative medicine; nutrition, individual and team psychology and health, biomechanics, neuroscience to name just some examples.
It is rare to bring leading experts in sport medicine and sports science together. Now sports medicine clinicians, neurologists, orthopedic specialists, rehabilitation experts and other health professionals are informed through evidence-based research, improving the care they provide to ensure the health and well-being of their patients. The Tanenbaum Institute will leverage unparalleled resources and talent across the University of Toronto and Sinai Health leading to future innovations.
