Zoya provides strategic, operational, administrative, and programmatic direction and oversight in order to contribute to and ensure the success of the Tanenbaum Institute for Science in Sport (TISS). As the senior administrative member of the TISS team, she provides leadership in the strategic development and management of the initiative. A seasoned university administrator and an avid proponent of knowledge mobilization within higher education research, Zoya believes the future belongs to people, communities, and organizations that orient themselves as life-long learners.
Her professional background at the University of Toronto has covered various aspects of research administration, student services, and program management, prior to joining TISS she managed a portfolio of learning solutions at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). Through project managing and collaborating with key stakeholders, clients, faculty, researchers, and staff, she operationalized programs and introduced new learning solutions to market as well as collaborated on custom learning solutions with industry clients. She has also held roles at the Rotman School of Management which included student advising, scholarship and financial aid management.
Zoya holds an Honours Bachelors degree from the University of Toronto, an MBA Essentials for Managers certificate from the Rotman School of Management, Certificate in Leadership in Higher Education among various other credentials, she is completing a Masters of Education at OISE in her own pursuit of life-long learning.
As a former dance & group fitness instructor, Zoya personally understands the impact of physical exertion and injury on athletic psyche and performance. She is inspired and excited to enable the mission and vision of the Tanenbaum Institute for Science in Sport in furthering athletic performance at all levels and abilities.
