Zoya Babar, MEd

Program Manager

Zoya provides strategic, operational, administrative, and programmatic leadership to support and advance the success of the Tanenbaum Institute for Science in Sport (TISS). As the administrative lead of the TISS, she provides input into the strategic development and management of the initiative. A seasoned university administrator, and an avid proponent of knowledge mobilization within higher education research, she believes the most innovative people, communities, and organizations orient themselves as learners first.

Her professional background at the University of Toronto has covered various aspects of research administration, student services, and program management. Prior to joining TISS, she managed a portfolio of learning solutions at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), where she collaborated with key stakeholders; faculty, researchers, staff and clients, operationalizing programs and introducing innovative learning solutions to market as well as collaborated on custom learning solutions with industry clients. She has also held roles at the Rotman School of Management which included student advising, scholarship and financial aid management.

She holds an Honours Bachelors (HBA) degree from the University of Toronto, a Masters of Education (MEd) degree from OISE, an MBA Essentials for Managers certificate from the Rotman School of Management, a Certificate in Leadership in Higher Education, among others in her own learning pursuits. A former dance & fitness instructor, Zoya has a personal appreciation for the impact of physical exertion and injury on athletic performance and mindset. She is inspired and excited to enable the mission and vision of the Tanenbaum Institute for Science in Sport in furthering athletic performance across all levels and abilities.
